Lexi Pechout to Race Bowridge Husqvarna

Official Second Gear Club Press Release,

Second Gear Club’s member and racer, Lexi Pechout of Calgary, Alberta, has just signed on with Bow Ridge Sports of Cochrane for 2011. Lexi will be racing their new 2011 WR250 Husqvarna.
At 13-years-old and finally old enough to race in sanctioned hare scrambles and enduro events, Lexi had a fantastic 2010 season. She finished Novice 12th overall in the CMA Western Canadian Hare Scrambles Championship series.

The Novice class is always challenging with a variety of riders and rider abilities but after stepping on board a KTM 250XC two-stroke part way through the season, it was obvious she was on a mission. Lexi placed 5th at the final event of the year at one of the most challenging events, complete with an array of mud, snow, wicked hills and lots of logs. With class sizes ranging from 25-40 riders each event there was plenty of competition! Lexi finished consistently in the top-half overall out of an average 100 riders at each of the Alberta CMA hare scramble events. She has been racing our club series for much of her young life. Always finishing on the podium in the Youth series, she was definitely ready to take on the next challenge.
Starting the 2010 season out on a CRF150R, she had a great time racing the Western CEC enduro rounds in Blairmore, AB and Penticton, BC finishing 6th overall in the Women’s class. Lexi was honoured to receive the ‘Weekend Warrior’ award. She also finished 3rd overall 2010 Junior Under in the Okanagan Hare Scrambles Series. Although a bush rider at heart, she raced her first motocross series in Alberta and successfully moved up from Women’s B to Women’s A by mid-season. The Second Gear Club wishes Lexi success in her 2011 race season! We will look forward to seeing her testing her new Husky as early as January 2011 in the Canadian Motorcycle Association National Oval Ice racing series.
