Mclean Creek Fisher Frolic Info

****NO PARADE LAP*** - 11:30am Riders Meeting 12PM START
There is no parade lap due to the technical terrain & length of course.

20-25KM of open single track terrain.
Wet & rooty with some very grassy areas.
Very little technical uphills, any uphills are double track with passing. Most uphills are small dips.
Some technical downhills.

Continue south past Bragg Creek on hwy 22 until you reach t-intersection of hwy 22/66.  Turn right (west) and follow hwy 66 for approx. 10km.  Turn left into McLean Creek Provincial Park.  You will pass the McLean Creek Store and then turn left onto gravel road (small bridge) and continue on gravel road for approx. 10km until you reach Fisher Creek Day Use Area (on your right).  Take your time as road is slow going.
From hwy 22 turn west onto hwy 549 (Millarville).  Follow hwy 549 for approx 15km (half hardtop/gravel) until you reach Fisher Creek Day Use Area (lefthand side).

Your MX tanks will be just fine, you will need to fill up after 1 lap. Gas check will be at the score tent as always as well as the spectators cheering you on and pushing you further.

Mitch chose to make Fisher Frolic in Mclean a longer harescramble for some key Reasons.
  • Allow riders to see more singletrack, newer trails & areas untraveled by most (middle mclean)
  • Avoid bottle necks while lapping riders (40-50min laps for top novices & intermediate classes)
  • Get off those darn barwells!
  • Keep traffic down on trails (novices 1-2 laps)
  • Maintain trails integrity
  • No more breaking bumps or that log that you just cant stick lap after lap after lap.

Since this is going to be the Tie Breaker of the year, we thought we would make it interesting for you all! Well Mostly Mitch Brown had that idea...

Winner of last years Race of the year, 1st time event organizer Mitch & Mika Pyykonen snagged the Best Race Trophy from the reigning corner grass crew who host their annual & infamous enduro-harescramble.

Mitch is taking over the lead with some help from veteran trail makers & race organizers.

Everyone will get their moneys worth that is for sure...

He has read the guidelines over & over, talked to many seasoned & veteran riders & is going to the max for what mclean can offer with its diverse terrain.
