APRIL is time for TRIALS and SCHOOLS, SCHOOLS, SCHOOLS!

APRIL is time for TRIALS and SCHOOLS, SCHOOLS, SCHOOLS!

APRIL NEWS!
  • Cactus Coulee, Lethbridge Hare Scramble - CANCELLED due to very high fire hazard.  No replacement event. Maybe a make up event somewhere else later in the year...we'll let you know.  So get ready for Invermere May 27th.  We hosted in 2005 & 2006 the Steamboat Mountain hare scramble (organized by Dylan Cartwright) was a favorite event for our members...so don't miss out on this one!
  • Time to get your bikes ready for the season.  There are still 3 open spots for the Jetting School, April 3rd by Ryan Peddie.  Also, Suspension School, April 17th.  Register online at www.offroadmotorcycletraining.ca
  • Endurocross track recently maintained/upgraded and ready for 2012 season.  Located at the Blackfoot (Wildrose) motocross track (west end).  Absolutely awesome training area for trials and enduro.
  • New bike? Kids upgrading to bigger bikes and clutches?  Brand new riders?  Women riders? Siggi will be training on most Wednesday evenings at the Blackfoot MX Track (Wildrose Motorcrosss Association).  He will be focusing on the novice crowd but certainly is open to any level rider/racer that want to work on technical skills.  You will be ready to hit any trail after learning the tips/skills of rocks, logs, uphills and downhills.  Register online at www.offroadmotorcycletraining.ca  We MUST know you are coming as there is a minimum of 5 students for course to run.
  • April 14th Trials School with Stephen Foord.  This is one course you don't want to miss out on!  Expert Trials and Enduro Champion, Stephen Foord, is offering 2 half day courses on Saturday for all levels of trials riders.  I activated online registration last night and already the course is filling up!  Holy Cow!  I'll post up some photos of the trials/endurocross obstacles so you can see just what there is to work/train on.  Register online at www.offroadmotorcycletraining.ca
  • April 15 and 29 Trials Competitions at Blackfoot start the season.  9 events planned for 2012 with our major sponsor, A&E Racing.  So after you take the schools and train on all the obstacles, you'll be ready to compete the next day?  Regardless, we are an easy going club and have a ton of fun at the trials competitions.  Don't worry if this is the first time you have competed or the first day on the bike this year...you will have FUN!  This is really the best way to get tips on how to complete obstacles with the best riders right there to show you the best lines.  Then stay for FREE BBQ and prizes.  Also, the Youth have their own sections that will be run as Closed-to-Club events which means they don't need a CMA competition license but only need to be Second Gear Club members.  Gate fee is reduced for competitions compliments of the WRMA.  Register at www.secondgearclub.com/events
  • April 20th, first ANNUAL FUNDRAISER of a different nature.  More details to come but to give you an idea, individuals are working together to build a fund for Second Gear Club racers that are competing in International Events.  Regardless, we are making it a fun night and we've hired a REAL Comedian, Daryl Makk who also rides motorcycles but is FUNNNNNNNYYY!  The guys at Toys 4 Boys are organizing/hosting the event at the Austrian Canadian Club.   Registration online will be available on our site too.  Mark your calendars and invite colleagues from work or anyone outside of the motorcycle industry...you don't have to like motorcycles to enjoy this evening.  Lots of draws and prizes and a great evening of entertainment.
