  • Wednesday evenings at the Blackfoot MX Track (Wildrose Motorcrosss Association) in full force starting today now that the weather is warming up and the days are longer.  Siggi will be focusing on the novice crowd but certainly is open to any level rider/racer that want to work on technical skills.  You will be ready to hit any trail after learning the tips/skills of rocks, logs, uphills and downhills.  Register online at  We MUST know you are coming as there is a minimum of 5 students for course to run.

  • April 20th Premier of the First Ever Christini All Wheel Drive Motorcycle and Second Gear Club Alberta Endurocross Team Fundraiser  The Christini AWD 450 is one COOOOOLLLLL looking bike.  Club member and Baha racer Darin Bullivant is showing off this bike and he will be racing it for the 2012 season.  4 more bikes are scheduled to arrive at Toys 4 Boys Motorsports this spring.  Engines are GASGAS 300 2ST and 450 4ST.  So for all the motorcycle enthusiasts out there, here is your chance to check out the first and only one to arrive in Canada.  That would be surely something to post on your FB status eh?  On top of this, we have actually hired a fulltime REAL Comedian, Daryl Makk, who also rides motorcycles but firstly is FUNNY! This is entertainment for anyone, you don't have to be involved in motorcycles to enjoy this evening of entertainment, door prizes, draws and silent auction and of course, fabulous food supplied by the Austrian-Canadian Club here in Calgary.  The guys at Toys 4 Boys and some of our club members are working together to make this a wonderful evening.  And why are we doing this?  It's one of those items on the bucket list of the Second Gear Club.  We have decided it's time to take it on.  Our club has really grown and part of it are racers that have worked hard to be the best that they can be.  The experience and passion has come from many days of riding and racing in Alberta and beyond.  Canada is a wonderful country and we should all be blessed by the opportunities it offers and the wonderful riding areas available to us.  Alberta's terrain is TOUGH and many countries around the world do not have the same opportunities to train in similiar terrain.  What does this mean?  We have some extremely talented riders that are our best kept secrets from the rest of the world.  As with the Olympics and many other sports, Canadian competitors are mostly on the hook for funding their way to these top notch competitions.  Of course, local businesses sponsor and support as best they can but Canada is different from many other countries.  Other countries actually pay or fully support their athletes in many cases and the athletes can train without working fulltime on the side.  Our very own Shane Cuthbertson finished 7th, I believe, in the world hard enduro round of the Red Bull Romainacs a couple years ago against world renowned competitors.  He has a young family, trained when he had time, took vacation like the rest of us from our full time jobs and funded his own way to the event.  Incredible I say!!!  So the goal is to somehow set up a fund for future years for our up and coming racers.  We are looking for volunteers to take on this project.  However, after discovering how many of our club riders (7) had signed up to race the May 4th Las Vegas Endurocross, we figured we should get the ball rolling and help them out.  Please spread the word to your friends and family to encourange them to join us for a fun filled evening.  Lets make it a hit and then hopefully this will be the first of an annual event to foster future riders to fulfill their own bucket list and compete Internationally.  Register online at or buy tickets directly from Toys 4 Boys Motorsports.
  • April 22nd Endurocross School with Stephen Foord.  Expert Trials and Enduro Champion, Stephen Foord, is offering 3 hour course for all levels of riders.    Want to improve your technical skills?  You will be trained on the new endurocross track at Blackfoot.  Excellent facility.  Learn the tricks to overcome obstacles (small rocks & logs, big rocks and logs, really big rocks and logs, tires and more).  Learn techniques to reduce the amount of energy exerted.   Register online at
  • Saturday, April 28th Cactus Coulee Trial  - RESCHEDULED and RELOCATED to Blackfoot (Wildrose MX) Park, Calgary , Reminder that the Youth have their own sections that will be run as Closed-to-Club events which means they don't need a CMA competition license but only need to be Second Gear Club members.  Gate fee is reduced for competitions compliments of the WRMA.  Then stay for FREE BBQ and prizes.  Register at
  • April 29th Endurocross For-Fun Race at Blackfoot (Wildrose MX) Park, Calgary , Shane Cuthbertson was able to arrange with the Wildrose MX Association to permit us to run a For-Fun race.  The track is a close replica of the USA Endurocross courses and we will be running it with a similiar schedule of practice, qualifying and race.  Four Lap race.  Test yourselves, try the sport that is now all the rage, ENDUROCROSS! Race bar to bar with your buddies.
