DIRECTIONS:
Ya-Ha Tinda road is close to Mountain-Aire Lodge which located on the Red Deer River, just 55 km southwest of Sundre on the Forestry Trunk Road (Hwy 734), in the midst of the majestic world famous Rocky Mountains.
Approximate Driving Times:
    • 1 hour west of Olds
    • ½ hour west of Sundre on Hwy 27
From Sundre, drive 10 kms west on Hwy 27, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel). Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road across the Big Blue Bridge. Mountain-Aire Lodge is just after the bridge on the right hand side. You'll know you're in the right place when you see the famous blue bridge.  There is gas and a small store for supplies.  If you don't need to stop at the lodge, do not go over Blue bridge, but rather follow gravel road on the north side of the blue bridge, then turn left (west) on to Ya-Ha Tinda road and follow to race site (approx 6kms).

There are two different ways you can get to us from Calgary:

  • 1. Take Hwy 22 (The Cowboy Trail), north to Sundre.  Then 10 kms west of Sundre, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel) Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road past Big Blue Bridge turn off and then turn left (west) onto Ya-Ha Tinda road (approx 6kms).
  • 2. Go north on Hwy 2, turn west on Hwy 27 towards Olds. Go west to Sundre, then 10 kms west of Sundre, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel) Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road past the Big Blue Bridge turn off and then turn left (west) onto Ya-Ha Tinda road (approx 6kms).

From Edmonton or Red Deer:

1. South on Hwy 2 to the Olds overpass. Turn west onto Hwy 27. Go west to Sundre, then 10 kms west of Sundre, turn south onto the Coal Camp Road, and follow for 50 kms (25 km pavement, 25 km gravel) Then turn South on to Hwy 734 and follow the road past access to road across the Big Blue Bridge. Then turn left (west) onto Ya-Ha Tinda road (approx 6kms).
